Lion's Head
The dive usually starts in the shallows at about 3 m, and the wall then drops steeply to around 40 m. Its overhangs and caverns hold basslets, red-tooth triggerfish, nudibranchs, sponges, sea fans and occasionally leaf fish or false stonefish, and a large cave is filled with soft coral. Out in the blue, turtles, Napoleon wrasse, eagle rays, tuna and above all grey reef sharks are the main attraction. Currents can be strong and decide the direction of the dive. The site was once used for shark feeding and has been recovering since it became a protected area.
