Frenchman's Hole

Also known as: Frenchman Hole · Frenchmans Hole

Frenchman's Hole lies near the Orange River, west of Salt Creek, and is normally entered straight from the shore. A wide opening leads into a cavern that begins at around 30 ft and ends near 70 ft. Ledges along a sloping wall shelter moray eels, nurse sharks and groupers, and hammerheads have been reported. The corals resemble those of the Throne Room, but the site is visited far less often. NEPA uses a water mark at Frenchmans Hole as a boundary point of the Orange Bay Fish Sanctuary.
