Spanish Anchor

Also known as: The Arena · Arena/Spanish Anchor

The landmark of the site is a large historic anchor, placed here and now slowly being overgrown by small sponges and brain coral; one guide mentions two sunken anchors. Nearby lies a sand patch shaped like an arena, where furry sea cucumbers, upside-down jellyfish and tobacco fish can be found. Tunnels lead into caverns decorated with black coral and sponges. Eagle rays and mutton snappers are seen here, and on some dives a nurse shark.
