L'Impérial du Milieu
L'Impérial du Milieu sits between the inshore and the offshore Impériaux rocks south-east of Riou island, in the Riou no-take zone. The western wall is the most colourful part, while the eastern side is bright and open. Groupers, scorpionfish and nudibranchs live on the wall, and barracuda, amberjacks and bonito pass in the blue. One classic route follows the wall from the western tip towards L'Impérial du Large, another heads towards L'Impérial de Terre past boulders where groupers hide at around 45 m. Boats can moor to a buoy on the site.
