La Cassidaigne
Also known as: Cassidaigne le Tombant
The Cassidaigne beacon stands offshore south of the bay of Cassis, and the dive around it follows a wall to about 45 m. Experienced divers can visit a rock called La Bigue at 40 to 48 m, while others stay around the lighthouse. The water is usually clear, with long-clawed squat lobsters, nudibranchs, moray eels and whatever comes in from the open sea. The site is very exposed to the Mistral and its current varies in strength and direction, so it is a calm-weather dive.
