Grotte à Corail de Cassis

Near Cassis a long brown mark on the cliff at the waterline shows the spot of this coral cave, which is really a large overhang. Its ceiling is covered with Mediterranean red coral between about 10 and 20 m. Groupers wait in front of the vault, schools of sea bream pass, and slipper lobsters hide in the cracks. The cliff drops as steeply underwater as above it, so beginners need good buoyancy control.
