Peltastis

Also known as: Peltastis Wreck · Pelastis · Grk

Peltastis was driven onto the rocks of Krk by a hurricane-force bora in January 1968 and went down with most of her crew. The ship now lies almost perpendicular to the shore with the bow towards Krk, upright and in very good condition. Masts, cranes and the funnel are still in place, and the hold, a passageway and the captain's cabin are easy to enter. Schools of fish hang over the wreck, while scorpionfish, crabs and crayfish hide in its structures and moray eels are often seen at the bow. The propeller lies in the sediment at the deepest point.
