Panormitis Wreck
Also known as: Fjellstrand · Panormitis ex Fjellstrand
The ship was launched in Oslo in 1935 as Fjellstrand for a Nesodden ferry company, was taken over by the German navy in 1941 and passed to a Greek owner in 1958, who named her Stella and, from 1960, Panormitis. On 26 January 1966 she ran aground and sank by Telendos with nobody lost, and locals have long suspected the sinking was intentional. She broke up as she sank, so the bow now lies upside down and much of the remaining hull has caved in. The wreck rests on a slope from roughly 32 to 37 m. The main attraction is the anchor, which is marked with a swastika that may date from the war years.
