Kalymnos and Its Satellite Islands (Dodecanese)

A Dodecanese island group historically known for sponge diving, now a leading Aegean scuba destination with reefs, walls, caverns and wrecks around Kalymnos, Telendos and Pserimos.

Kalymnos, part of the Dodecanese chain between Kos and Leros, also includes the islands of Pserimos, Telendos, Kalolimnos and Plati. Long known as the 'Sponge-Divers' Island', it is today a PADI-certified recreational diving destination with a rocky seafloor of reefs, walls, caverns and canyons. Notable sites include the Tripiti formation at Cape Kefala, the sunken city of Potha off Telendos, and wrecks such as the Fjellstrand and a Syrian cargo boat off Pserimos.
