Punta San Carlos
The Crusoe Island Lodge describes an underwater ridge of volcanic origin that runs perpendicular to the coast, starting at about 25 m and rising slowly to about 3 m. Colourful anemones cover the large boulders so densely that the lodge compares the site to a sunken garden. Lobsters and moray eels hide in the cracks, black sea urchins sit on the rock, and yellowtail amberjack pass by. Red and orange Caprodon longimanus, a fish the lodge calls endemic to the island, rest near the bottom. A local guide of Endémica, quoted in La Tercera and Outdoors.cl, names it one of the island's good dive sites with an interesting underwater formation and a great abundance of marine life.
