Stingray City
Also known as: Deep Stingray City
The rays first gathered here when fishermen cleaned their catch in the calm water behind the barrier reef, and they learned to link boat engines with food. The tourism board describes it as a 12-foot dive for certified divers. A shallower sandbar nearby is where visitors stand among the rays. Researchers have raised concerns about how the feeding changes the rays' behaviour.
