Wyckoff Ledge
Also known as: Wycoff Ledge
Wyckoff Ledge runs roughly east to west; on its shallow side large rocks carry a giant kelp bed, and to the south the reef rolls over into a wall that drops to a sandy bottom. Large crevices cut deep into the rock and hold rockfish, lingcod, sea stars and urchins. The wall is covered with sponges, gorgonians, scallops, chestnut cowries and nudibranchs, and divers often meet wolf eels and the rare mosshead warbonnet. Harbor seals frequently accompany divers. Because it is sheltered, it is one of the more reliably diveable sites at San Miguel.
