Plate Top
Also known as: Plates
Plate Top combines easy shallows, with sandy paths and anemonefish under the boat, with a massive coral formation standing off the main reef. That formation is a magnet for anthias, yellowtail barracuda, gobies, sweetlips, trevally and coral trout. At low tide these fish crowd onto the northern corner of the plates. Reef sharks, turtles and large schools of fish shelter from the tidal currents at its ends. Cairns Dive Adventures calls it one of its favourite dive sites in Cairns.
