Ilhéu West

Also known as: Ilhéu Oeste

The site descends along the western slope of the islet to around 22 m. Four canyons open into the rock; divers can enter them but not pass all the way through, and they serve as refuges for marine life. Species named include eels, octopus, rays, triggerfish, amberjacks, barracuda, pufferfish and flatfish, with lobsters as well. The site is also described as having low reefs and several caves with schools of fish, and as well suited to night dives.
