Sawadee
Also known as: Sawadee Wrecks · Sawadee/Sipadan Wreck · Sawadee and KM Sipadan · KM Sipadan · KM Sipidan Wreck
Sawadee is a deep wreck site on the sandy floor of Tekek Bay, north of Renggis Island, where the former Malaysian navy patrol ship KM Sipadan, about 31 m long, was sunk as an artificial reef in 2012 next to two older wooden Thai fishing boats. The navy ship sits upright with its hull at around 27 to 30 m, was prepared to allow penetration training, and is reached along a mooring line tied to the stern, while the deteriorating wooden wrecks are linked to it by lines. Coral growth is still patchy, but the wrecks gather dense schools of fusiliers, snappers and juvenile fish, plus lionfish, batfish, scorpionfish, stonefish, octopus and nudibranchs, and golden trevally and giant barracuda hunt around them. With depths beyond the Open Water limit and mild to moderate current, it is a site for advanced divers and a favourite for deep, nitrox and wreck courses.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
