Prince Albert Wreck

Also known as: Wreck of the Prince Albert

The Prince Albert once carried refugees from Nicaragua to Roatan and was later left half sunk until CoCo View's founder obtained permission to scuttle it in 1985. It now rests upright on sand in about 65 ft of water in the channel near Newman's Wall, a few fin kicks from CoCo View's shore. Years of algae and soft coral growth cover the hull, and fish shelter in its holds. Eagle rays, southern stingrays and squid often pass along the sand beside it. The ship was prepared for easy entry by divers and is the resort's most popular shore and night dive.
