Blue Channel

Also known as: Roatan Blue Channel

Blue Channel lies between West End and West Bay; the inside mooring is directly west of the Tita's Pink Seahorse beach bar. Divers typically start on the outer wall and enter a maze of tunnels that can take seven or eight minutes to pass, with occasional exits along the way. Beyond them a field of turtle grass holds nudibranchs and blennies, and eagle rays often cross it. Further in, a sand bowl is home to upside-down jellyfish, sea stars, conch, southern stingrays and a small sunken sailboat full of juvenile life. A large school of bigeye scad, sometimes shadowed by barracuda, is a regular sight. Visibility varies more here than elsewhere, so guides check conditions first.
