Horseshoe

Also known as: Manza Horseshoe · Horseshoe Point · Horseshoe Beach · Horse Shoe

Beyond the reef edge stands a large rock shaped like a horseshoe that gives the site its name. The terrain combines a vertical drop, a deep rock below 30 m, a large crack in the wall and two swim-throughs, including a tunnel with bigscale soldierfish under the overhang. Sightings of dogtooth tuna, bluespotted jacks, turtles, barracuda and reef sharks make it popular with experienced divers, and nudibranchs and blennies cover the wall. It can be dived by boat or from shore, but the shore entry is tiring and depends on the tide. Strong longshore currents occur at times, and injuries have been reported here.
