Le Saint-Dominique

Le Saint-Dominique was an iron sailing ship without an engine that sank while under tow and now lies in the northern roadstead of Marseille, about 800 m off the coast. The wooden deck has gone and only the metal frames of the 70 m hull remain, partly covered by large rocks dumped on the wreck. Visibility is often limited by sediment from the Rhône, but the fauna and flora are rich, and the site can be dived in a strong Mistral before the sea has built up.
