Dragon Lady

Also known as: ドラゴンレディ (Japanese) · ドラゴンレディー (Japanese)

The site takes its name from an aircraft that was used as a set for a Japanese film released in 1989 and left in the sea at the request of Zamami village. Waves and typhoons have broken it up, but parts of the wings, fuselage, cockpit and instruments can still be recognised on the sandy bottom further offshore. Around a small coral mound in the sand, large schools of glassfish shelter together with shrimps, and three species of clownfish live on the reef. Garden eels, jawfish, frogfish and many nudibranchs make it a favourite for fish watching and macro photography. GOLD notes that the site works best when the wind blows from the north.
