Yokobama
Also known as: ヨコバマ (Japanese)
Futo is one of the busiest dive areas in Izu, and Yokobama is its main beach with separate slopes for entering and leaving the water. Offshore a calm sandy bottom continues, home to partner gobies and frogfish, and angel sharks and guitarfish appear from time to time. Extensive anemone fields and soft corals line the reef, and seasonal tropical visitors increase in summer and autumn. To the right lies the Futo Hole, a shallow cave that is a popular feature. In early summer bigfin reef squid spawn here.
