Futatsune

Also known as: フタツネ (Japanese)

Hatsushima lies about 10 km off Atami and is reached by high-speed ferry in roughly 25 minutes. Futatsune is the island's representative entry point, with a slope for entering and leaving the water. Sharks and rays are common here and often large, among them Japanese bullhead sharks and guitarfish. Schools of grunts, silver-stripe round herring, takabe and amberjack appear one after another. Between the boulders there are groupers, and patient divers find jawfish and frogfish.
