Ushitsuki-iwa

Also known as: 牛着岩 (Japanese) · Cow Rock

Kumomi is famous for its topography, and Ushitsuki-iwa shows it best. Piled boulders form caves, tunnels and arches of every size, and light streams in through them like in a cathedral. Sweepers and cardinalfish crowd the caves, while amberjack and yellowtail hunt outside. A bright sandy area on the outside gives a sense of weightlessness, and frogfish and seahorses add macro interest. The site is large and offers so many routes that repeat dives stay fresh.
