Shirane
Also known as: 白根 (Japanese)
Ito's boat sites are scattered around Teishi Island, which rises from about 70 m roughly 1 km offshore. Shirane runs north to south and is dived in three parts. On its southern end a drop-off plunges towards 70 m, lined with anemone fields and colourful soft corals. Scalefin anthias swarm the rock, and amberjack and yellowtail patrol it, especially in autumn. Currents are common around Ito's rocks, which keeps the soft corals healthy.
