Okine
Also known as: 沖根 (Japanese)
Okine lies about five minutes by boat from the small Izusan harbour, at the base of the peninsula. The site is formed by two rocks that reach above the water, and their walls are covered with soft corals in many colours. The coral growth hides a wealth of small life, with many nudibranchs and shrimps for macro photographers. Out towards open water, schooling pelagic fish pass by from time to time. Izusan as a whole is described as a calm, mostly shallow boat area that suits beginners.
