Koganezaki Park Beach

Also known as: 黄金崎ビーチ (Japanese) · Koganezaki Beach · Usugu

The beach was once a seaside park and is now opened to divers, next to the golden cliffs of Koganezaki in a national park. White sand, rare in western Izu, keeps it bright, with boulders on the edges. Yellownose shrimp gobies, yellow pygmy gobies hiding in cans, warty frogfish and ghost pipefish are among its favourites. In spring paintpot cuttlefish may appear, small eagle rays come in early summer and amberjack in autumn. Conditions are stable all year and there is very little current.
