Ras Eiro

Also known as: Ras Ero

Ras Eiro is a headland east of Arta beach on the south coast of the gulf, and Ultramarina counts two dive sites around it. The scenery is made of huge boulders and a big drop-off, with swim-throughs overgrown by thick, healthy coral. Corals and anemones are singled out as especially beautiful, and groupers, morays and turtles are common. Whale sharks are seen here in season, and the point serves as a lookout when boats search for them at the surface. The anchorage is sheltered and currents are usually weak, although wind and swell can affect conditions.
