Jado Trader

Also known as: Wreck of the Jado Trader

The Jado Trader was a refrigerator freighter of about 240 feet that was sunk in 1987 to create an artificial reef. It rests upright and complete on sand, with the structure lying between roughly 24 and 33 m. Over the decades marine growth has covered much of the hull, and fish use the wreck for shelter. Several coral pinnacles stand near the wreck and can be explored on the same dive, and the swim back crosses a shallow, lively reef. Clark's Cay calls it one of the most photogenic wrecks in Honduras, and Clearwater Paradise names it the most popular of the island's several wrecks.
