Black Rock Canyon

Also known as: Black Rock Canyons

Black Rock Canyon belongs to the volcanic Bonacca Ridge, and volcanic activity shaped it into a cluster of caves, tunnels, cracks and crevices. Divers wind through the formations while shafts of light break in through the rock. Rounding a corner or leaving a tunnel, it is common to meet a sleeping shark or a big moray eel tucked into a hole. Silverside sardines and glassy sweepers fill the passages, groupers and barracuda patrol nearby, and in summer young silversides can pack the swim-throughs. Clark's Cay suggests Michael's Rock as a practice dive before tackling it.
