Suloide
The Suloide was blasted with dynamite and wire-dragged in 1944 to clear it as a navigation hazard, so it is mostly a scatter of plates and beams around two prominent boilers. A clear outline of the hull remains, which helps orientation despite the debris. Schools of spadefish and sheepshead are common, together with flounder and black sea bass. Being close to shore, it is reached on half-day and shallow full-day trips from Morehead City.
