Snapper Hole

The cavern became known through a BBC nature film shot in 2014 that showed tarpon and jacks hunting dwarf herring in summer. Outside it, a large Spanish-style anchor from 1872 leans against a coral head among grunts and schoolmaster snappers. Porkfish shelter under the ledges and a green moray often swims through the canyons. A mushroom-shaped coral head nicknamed Papa Smurf's House lies on the way back to the boat.
