HMS Majestic
Also known as: H.M.S. Majestic · Majestik Batığı
HMS Majestic was a Majestic-class pre-dreadnought battleship that supported the Allied fleet during the Dardanelles campaign until U-21 sank her off Cape Helles in May 1915, two days after the same submarine sank HMS Triumph. The wreck rests in Morto Cove near Seddülbahir at the southern tip of the Gallipoli peninsula, with the bow shallower than the stern. Although parts were salvaged and the big guns are gone, the hull keeps much of its shape. Divers see unexploded shells of several sizes, turret positions, the toppled conning tower and observation post, and scattered items such as bottles and plates. Schools of bream and dentex live around the wreck. As the wrecks are also memorials, touching or taking anything is not allowed.
