Director's Bay
Also known as: Directors Bay
From the early 1900s until 1985 the bay was reserved for the directors of Royal Dutch Shell and the Dutch royal family; today it is a public beach between the Tugboat and Small Wall. The decaying surge fence, said locally to have been a shark fence, is now overgrown with corals and sponges. Heading east along the wall, which reaches about 15 m, divers find seahorses, frogfish, moray eels, flounders and an octopus living in the rubble. Heading west leads towards the Tugboat, a one-way dive that needs a pick-up. The bay is also an out-planting site of Reef Renewal Curaçao.
