B17 Wreck
Also known as: B17 · B-17 · B17 Plane Wreck · Le Bombardier B-17 · Her Did
Returning damaged from a raid on the Verona railway yards, the bomber was forced to land on the sea off Calvi, and three of its crew were killed in the air battle. The wreck sits less than 200 m from the shore, a few minutes by boat from the harbour, at the foot of the citadel. The tail is missing, so divers can look into the fuselage, and an anchor has torn off the cockpit canopy. Several propeller blades have been taken by scrap hunters, and the wreck is described as fragile. Moray and conger eels, scorpionfish and groupers live around it, and lobsters are sometimes seen.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
