Buracona
Also known as: Blue Eye
Buracona is the best known volcanic cove on Sal and is often called the Blue Eye. The cove works like a natural siphon, and where part of its roof has fallen in, sunlight streams down and creates striking light effects underwater. Divers reach it overland, by four-wheel drive, and enter from the shore. Its cave entrance is reported at about 25 m. Cabo Verde Diving offers it together with the neighbouring Regona caverns, and nurse sharks are among the animals seen in the area.
