Mount Mutiny

Also known as: Mt Mutiny

Mount Mutiny is named after Captain Bligh, who charted it shortly after the mutiny on the Bounty, and NAI'A adds that its own guests once threatened mutiny unless they could dive it again. The seamount stands in deep water about four miles from E6 and is usually bathed in plankton-rich currents. Its south flank is blanketed by Chironephthya soft corals in a wide range of colours, the wall that divers call the Rainbow Wall or Rainbow Reef. Pelagic life is similar to E6, with schooling barracuda and jacks, and Oceanlight photographed whip corals and gorgonian fans on its walls.
