Carpet Cove

The wreck is an old fishing vessel scuttled to create habitat and now covered in soft corals and sponges, with large lionfish sheltering inside. Schools of chevron barracuda and trevally patrol over the hull. After a short time on the wreck, divers move up to two pinnacles that reach to within about 3 m of the surface and to the adjacent reef wall with hard and soft corals and fans. Blue ribbon eels, leaf scorpionfish and batfish are regular finds. The shallow anemone field with fire clownfish and other anemonefish gives the site its name.
