Dharavandhoo Thila

Also known as: Daravandhoo Thila

The thila has two different faces. The side towards the outer atoll is a sandy slope with garden eels, gobies and their partner shrimps, where big groupers and Napoleon wrasse patrol. The inner side drops as a wall with overhangs full of sea fans, black coral, sponges, cleaner shrimps, moray eels, lionfish and anthias. Its shallow top at around 6 m makes a comfortable safety stop among scorpionfish, sweetlips and blue-striped snappers. Between May and November mantas visit its cleaning stations.
