Adara Wall
Also known as: Adara · Adara Bay
Adara lies around the middle of the west coast and is rated by Indo Pacific Images as probably the most varied of Atauro's western sites. A pleasant bay with a sandy slope, sponge gardens and hard coral patches makes the start and end of the dive, with sheer walls running off to the north and south. The drop-off starts close to the beach, and soft corals and big sponges cover the wall while snappers, surgeonfish, fusiliers and trevally school along it. Crevices in the wall hide lobsters and moray eels, and the open blue can bring larger visitors. Indo Pacific Images suggests at least two dives to see both directions.
