Punta Iavuta
Also known as: Punta Javuta
A south-east coast site near Punta Sottile, a few minutes by boat from the harbour, where boulders on white sand form a small maze before a wall full of cracks. It suits divers of every level.
The dive begins over a wide area of white sand where scattered boulders create a little labyrinth to swim through. It ends on a vertical wall that rises from about 16 m to its edge at 8 m, cut by many fissures that shelter moray eels and small dusky groupers. A rocky canyon with holes and crevices leads to a sandy plateau at about 18 m. An anchor from the Byzantine period lies wedged between the boulders there. Octopus, scorpionfish and parrotfish are common.
