Les Moyades
Les Moyades is a shoal off the northern tip of Riou island. Its southern wall is the highlight, overhanging in places and dropping to about 45 m, so it is less easy than it looks for beginners. Brown meagre, large groupers, barracuda and scorpionfish are typical, together with forkbeard and red gorgonians, and in autumn barracuda come up to less than 10 m. The Mistral and the current push away from the island, so a surface cover boat is recommended.
