Coconut Walk

Also known as: Coconut Wall

Coconut Walk is named after an old coconut plantation on the shore; the Department of Environment and the current Reef Divers map call it Coconut Wall. Its centrepiece is an extensive stand of pillar coral, which Conch Club Divers call the biggest on the island. Ledges, swim-throughs and chimneys run through the outcrops, and Paradise Divers mention a circular room open to one side and towards the surface. Large barrel sponges grow from about 60 ft down. Turtles, honeycomb cowfish and nurse sharks resting on the hardpan are typical sightings.
