Salsipuedes
Also known as: Sal Si Puedes
The name, roughly "get out if you can", refers to the steep cliffs of the coast above rather than to the conditions underwater. Below the surface a large volcanic formation is broken into two parts, and the Crusoe Island Lodge dive programme describes a dive in the Sal si puedes gully below Puerto Inglés to about 28 m. Big schools of wrasse, pompano and serranids gather around the rock, and the lodge also mentions eels, crustaceans and the black coral Parantypathes fernandezii. Chile's tourism board highlights the orange-coloured underwater gardens on the promontory. Archipiélago Expediciones places it in its closest dive zone inside Cumberland Bay, no more than about 20 minutes by boat.
