Dollabarat Reef
Also known as: Banco Dollabarat · Dollabarat · Formigas/Dollabarat
Dollabarat is a submerged shoal inside the Formigas nature reserve, named after the Basque captain whose boat struck it in 1788. On calm days the shallowest part can be seen from the anchored boat. Dives start on the summit, cross ravines at 8 to 10 m and then follow the steep drop to 20 or 30 m. Tunas, wahoo, bonito, barracuda and trevally patrol the seamount, while dusky and island groupers and barred hogfish live on the rock. Devil rays are seen less often, and giant mantas, smooth hammerheads and Galapagos sharks are lucky encounters.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
