Hanadai Arch

Also known as: ハナダイアーチ (Japanese)

A wide coral slope swarms with scalefin and other fairy basslets, and at about 10 m there is an arch long enough to swim through. Offshore, a big rock nicknamed 'Gunkan-iwa' (battleship rock) rises from 28 m to about 7 m. BIGHOLIDAY lists giant trevally, dogtooth tuna, sharks, turtles, Napoleon wrasse and rays, calling it Miyakojima's best open-ocean big-game site. The current can be strong at times.
