Coriolanus
Also known as: HMS Coriolanus
Coriolanus was a Royal Navy minesweeper of the Shakespeare class and went down quickly after striking a mine in the northern Adriatic in the last days of the war. The wreck is well preserved and roughly 50 m long, with the top of the bridge at about 17 m and the seabed near 29 m. The bridge area is overgrown with sponges, shells and nudibranchs, while the rear anti-aircraft guns and the heavy machine guns at the front draw most divers. Conger eels, large crabs and scorpionfish live on the wreck, and parts of it are covered by fishing nets. The passages inside are narrow, so penetration is only for specialists.
