Newport

Also known as: Nieuwpoort

Newport, locally Nieuwpoort, lies between Fuikbaai and Kathy's Paradise on the remote south-east coast. Because it can only be reached by boat it sees few divers. A slope with great star corals, brain corals, large barrel sponges and gorgonians leads to a wall that drops into deep water. Eagle rays, turtles and barracudas are common, and seahorses and frogfish hide in the crevices.
