Margate Bay

Margate Bay is the first site in the south after the coast road narrows to one lane. Divers cross the salina on foot and enter at the yellow stones. The reef is rich in hard and soft corals, gorgonians and fish, and the site is named after its schools of black margates. Depending on the current, divers follow the reef north or south and return in the shallows. Watch for fire coral near the entry and exit point.
