Dive center Turtle Dive
Turtle Dive is a dive and watersports center in Watamu, Kenya, with boat diving to around 15 sites on a large reef and access to the Watamu Marine National Park & Reserve. It runs dives at least twice a day, with all sites reached in about 25 minutes, and keeps groups small at a maximum of 4 to 5 divers per guide. The center teaches in German, English and Kiswahili. November to March brings the best diving conditions, while the inner reef, Turtle Reef, offers shallow dives of about 10 metres and is especially suitable for beginners; the outer reefs reach about 10 to 30 metres. The center offers courses from beginner to Divemaster, uses mainly Scubapro equipment, has more than 40 complete sets and more than 100 steel cylinders, and can provide Nitrox for an extra charge. It also works as a PADI Eco-Center, supports Greenfins-style conservation practices, and takes part in coral restoration, sea turtle data collection and beach clean-ups.
