Mantamaria Dive Center, Santa Maria, Portugal, teaches in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French and German. Based in Vila do Porto on Santa Maria in the Azores, it works in the Atlantic around an island known for 20 to 40 metre visibility, the Baixa do Ambrósio seamount with rays and pelagic fish, and the Formigas and Dollabarat reefs, which are named as among Europe and the world’s best diving sites. The centre has five dive boats for diving and trips around the island, and it offers SSI and PADI courses from try dives and entry-level training through advanced levels to instructor training, with further specialty courses including nitrox, dry suit, deep diving, buoyancy, underwater navigation, search and recovery, night diving and underwater photography.
